Response to UN SDGs

Response to UN SDGs

STEP 1 Assess method

GRI, UN Global Compact and WBCSD have jointly created a SDG Compass in an attempt to rally efforts from the corporate world towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). YOKE has adopted the spirit and practices stated in the SDG Compass and followed the 5 main steps from “Understanding the SDGs,” “Defining priorities,” “Setting goals,” “Integrating” to “Reporting and communicating” to incorporate SDGs into the Company’s operational goals. By following the above guidelines, YOKE hopes to adjust its practices and contribute towards sustainability over the long term.

STEP 2 Confirmation of goals

From a series of sustainability issues analysis, YOKE has identified issues that it considers to be material, and conducted a full-scale review to associate SDGs with YOKE’s value chain. Through internal communication and discussion, YOKE has identified SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being),
SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 16 (Peace and Justice Strong Institutions) the primary aspects for its sustainability efforts.

STEP 3 Practices

While promoting sustainable practices, YOKE came to realize the implications of this issue and how it concerns stakeholders. This realization is also gradually reflected in the performance indicators of internal departments through trial and learning; ultimately, we hope to fully incorporate sustainable values into our corporate culture and business operations. By prioritizing SDGs, YOKE aims to associate the corporate value chain with stakeholders’ concerns and introduce feasible solutions to fulfill SDGs through action.
